OMGOMGOMG

Got to meet Eric and Marley of Rebelution last night after the show! *starstruck*

Had to let them know that they help me stay inspired and excited when I’m teaching. Their songs are  very moving and really resonate with me in all aspects of my life.

Definitely seeing them again in Asheville Nov. 6th and imma try to get a photo pass so I can show them what I could offer. Would LOVE the opportunity hang with them. One day…

WOW

just…wow. Larry Carlson is AMAZING.

Go explore…there’s tons of beautiful artwork to look at/interact with/listen to.

Added to my favorites…up there with Varo

Spending the next hour or so listening and downloading all the MP3’s this artist has to offer (have to click one by one to get them…ugh)

Give this a listen/look. It’s divine.

Alejandro

is great, despite what people are saying. No, it’s not another “Telephone” but who said it was supposed to be? It’s dark, artistic, and overflowing with Gaga-ness. What more do you want?!

Stir The Blood

sucks. Like, it’s horrible. Only good thing is that it’s short, so you can save your ears from extended exposure.

I’ve been falling out of love with The Bravery ever since I shot them in concert here in Greensboro for the bicentennial a few years ago (for some reason, Greensboro wanted them??? LOL). First album was overall very good, with a few random stupid tracks. Second album was just awful…then they re-released it and it was slightly better, but still horrible. This one sounds even more like a bad 80’s new wave/post punk carbon copy that skipped puberty and decided to incorporate echoes randomly throughout the album, because that supposed to sound cool or something?

“Song for Jacob” is eh, only because I like the bouncy 80’s synths throughout the song and drum line that they stole from better artists.

“I Have Seen The Future” is apparently supposed to be a Blue Monday influenced track…but I don’t hear it. If anything, I hear a dancier version of “Call Me” by Nikka Costa…but no Blue Monday.

For the record, I’m not a big fan of any of these new wave/post punk commercialized “revival” bands (The Killers, The Bravery, Louix XIV, Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes, etc). I much prefer…you know…the ORIGINALS.

*deletes album from iTunes*

Ahh, much better.

Ratatat

LP4 leak!

Apparently, the songs on this album are just leftovers from LP3…which is just fine with me!

*presses spacebar to play iTunes*

Sounds good so far, the tracks are not as “international” sounding as in LP3, but I can definitely see the similarities between the two albums. Standouts? Umm…all of them? Can’t pick a favorite yet, since every track is great and exactly what I was looking for in the next Ratatat album (well it could be a LITTLE harder, but oh well, that’s why I have Crystal Castles ^_^)

Tracks I like: Bilar, Drugs, Neckbrace, Bob Gandhi, Mandy, Sunblocks, Grape Juice City, Alps.

Meh: We Can’t Be Stopped (too slow, doesn’t go anywhere), Mahalo (ditto), Party With Children (I’m anti-Singles, plus nothing really catches me in the song), Bare Feast (not into mandolin-thing, random barking noise, ugh)
